General research reports

  1. Write to the reader

In a professional research reports it is important to consider that we write for the reader and not for ourselves. The reader needs to read the text easily. We cannot automatically assume that the reader will automatically understand what we want to communicate. We need the lead them through the text to what we are aiming to say and what they supposed to understand. You can say: "Let me explain, what the issue is,,,", or "To repeat, the main issues is that...".

2. Be clear

The text need to be fluent and attractive. You need to speak with authority and not pretentiousness.

3. Produce explanations

You need to ensure that the entire test stands out for an explanation on what you are doing and why you are doing it, and not just a description.

4. Make it appropriate to the research

Generally, the content will be about how you have improved your learning to change your actions. Additionally, you practice and test your hypothesis. You are almost autobiographical. Your report is about why you undertake you practice and how you have come out to know it. Ask yourself questions: Why did I want to investigate this subject? How do I gather the data? What did I think I could do about a particular situation? How did I gather the data and how have I analysed it? What did I learn?
